Thank you to the 125th Street Business Improvement District Members for their contributions to our community! There are several opportunities for you and your businesses to get involved in Harlem Holiday Lights for the 2020 holiday season.

New this year is the Harlem Holiday Passport, a shopping program that encourages customers to support businesses on 125th Street. BID Member Business can opt to participate in the Harlem Holiday Passport at no cost.

Member Businesses can offer discounts or other deals to shoppers in the Harle Holiday Passport. For more information and to register, please visit the link below.

Businesses can help spread cheer throughout Harlem during the Caravan of Lights, the BID's new program for 2020. The Caravan of Lights will travel throughout Harlem on November 18, 2020.

The Caravan of Lights features three lighted floats from the 125th Street BID, Community Board 9, and Community Board 10. The floats will interact with community members and businesses from a distance and follow all New York State public health guidelines.

The 125th Street BID invites businesses along the Caravan route to decorate their storefronts and "Turn on the Lights" with us as the Caravan passes by.

All property owners, tenants, or residents on 125th Street between Fifth Avenue and Morningside Avenue are members and should update their Business Improvement District membership on a yearly basis.

We invite you to register your membership on our website. Once registered you are entitled to vote on 125th Street Initiatives and the 125th Street BID Board of Directors.

Registration grants business owners access to our two (2) BID Digital Platforms. Our neighborhood customized Harlem Happenings App and our BID Member Discussion Board. You will receive important communications and alerts and you can submit events to be posted on our events calendar.

The music was also transformed—electrified and amplified to compete with urban noise. This tour, curated by the National Public Housing Museum, introduces you to the heart of Chicago’s Near West Side with its vibrant communities, diverse cultures, and history of activism and resistance. Explore fascinating sites where public housing residents built community across racial and economic divides, restaurants and bakeries that continue to create delectable food from various cultures and learn about overlooked and invisible stories about where people studied, organized, and confronted social injustice. We recognize this land as being indigenous, and we follow the lead of the first peoples who, despite massive genocidal violence, have never relinquished the struggle for land, water, culture, their people.

The American Writers Museum is the first national museum in the United States dedicated to engaging the public in celebrating American writers. Plan a visit to unlock the exclusive, behind-the-scenes content for each exhibit.

Tucked away in the West Ridge community is a treasured place— Indian Boundary Park.  The 13-acre park was developed in two major phases—the first in 1916 and the second in the early 1920s. Plans for both phases were created by Richard Gloede, a landscape gardener and horticulturalist from Evanston.  Unlike other parks of the era that accommodated numerous athletic activities, Gloede and the Park Board sought to create a beautiful landscape for rest and relaxation.  The park has always had a seamless relationship with the adjacent neighborhood, and despite various changes over the years, Indian Boundary Park has always retained its special character.
